Every thriving brand has to start somewhere. London-based Bodytonic Clinic began in a living room – founder James Gill’s, to be specific. That original living room launch is now a brand with two full clinics employing 24 practitioners, offering services ranging from osteopathy, physiotherapy, and massage to beauty treatments and waxing. Bodytonic added a second clinic site in Stratford last year.

As a UK-registered osteopath, Gill was frustrated when flying solo without much support. He aimed to create a space that would not only welcome patients but also help practitioners grow and succeed.

“We’ve gone from two rooms above a pharmacy to our own five-room clinic space,” says Gill of the Stratford clinic. “We’ve opened up physiotherapy and beauty and wellness services, which we only had in our other clinic. We’ve got a huge frontage that enables patients and people walking past to come directly into the clinic.”

Prioritizing patients and practitioners

When evaluating practice management software, Gill sought to provide clinic patients and practitioners with seamless user experiences. He found that Zenoti fit the bill, offering mobile apps for both groups. The platform’s functionality scores high marks for clinic owners, too.

“A separate app for practitioners is difficult to find in the market,” says Gill. “Practitioners get to see when patients have checked in, and what their [patient] list is like.”

A patient app for self-service

As Gill mentions in the video, the app for patients includes the convenience of auto check-in and autopay. This can be a tremendous time-saver for both patients and reception staff – it also avoids patients having to wait to check out after treatment.

Technology-fueled growth

Gill believes the functionality and customizability available with Zenoti will change the osteopathic and musculoskeletal industry. He specifically mentions Zenoti features that are helping Bodytonic increase patient numbers and revenue.

“You just don’t have those features in other booking systems and practice management software,” he says. “We’re really excited about that, enabling us to grow as successfully as possible. Growth for us is making sure that we do it sustainably, sensibly – and that we’re able to achieve it in our marketplace, which is the U.K. and London.”

With Bodytonic earning a spot on two shortlists for the Southwark Business Excellence Awards 2023 – “Best Business for Customer Service” and “Outstanding Team” – the brand has come a long way from Gill’s living room and is poised for even more growth in years to come.
